Hello to all!

Im trying to upload a .nsmp to my Nord Stage 4 and I receive this message.
I understand that .nsmp files are just sample libreary and are agnostic to whichever board you are using... Am I missing something?

The Nord Sound Manager will not convert Nord-created NSMP and NSMP3 files to NSMP4 format, however it should convert any "user-created" NSMP or NSMP3 files. There's an error with NSM v7.70 (revised to add support for the NS4) where NSM will not convert user-created NSMP files for the NS4 (no problem with NSMP3 conversion), but will convert them for the Piano 5 that also uses NSMP4 files. I'd suggest submitting the problem to Nord at https://www.nordkeyboards.com/support

As an interim solution I've posted an old file converter at nord-stage-forum-f3/nord-sample-convert ... 23719.html that converts both user-created and Nord-created NSMP samples to NSMP3 format that reportedly can then be converted to NSMP4 format using NSM.

I've had success by just renaming the file to a .nsmp3 file after it's downloaded. Give it a shot.

It might be better to try it with NSM v7.70, as I have one report of that not working with NSM v7.72.

Yes convert NSMP files to NSMP3 with the converter then rename them to .nsmp3... the NS4 sound editor will change them to NSMP4 and upload to keyboard. Have had 3/3 success with this.

When using the converter there should be a folder containing the converted files already with the ".nsmp3" extension. You might want to check to see if you have it on your laptop. Take care

FYI if you go to the really old Nord sound library (archive, not V2) I was able to convert several of these to NSMP4. For example some of the old Mellotron samples which are not in the current library, the PH pianos, etc. So it's worth trying that if there are factory sounds you want which are available in that archive.

Nord Sound Manager 7.74 converts nspm files to nspm3 if you just DRAG AND DROP the nsmp file into a sample slot. But downloading/converting nsmp files through right mouse button menu still doesn't work and you get an error message. Maybe it works the same way with nsmp4 samples? Might be worth to give it a try.
