I've been looking for some speakers to be able to play my NS3 out of my house with friends, and eventually gigs. A guy near me who has a refurbished guitar amp shop out of his house is selling a pair of great condition K8 speakers for $1,000. That's a lot (to me) but it seems like a pretty big discount vs. the gold standard of the K8.2 at about $1,700 new. I don't care about the extra "1000 watts" of power. But I do care about the sound. Is the K8 basically just as good as the K8.2 in that department? And it seems at that price, in that condition, I could probably unload them in a couple of years if I don't end up needing them, for around the same price. Low risk investment?

This is a bit lower than the typical used price for QSC K8's the look like they go for $550-$600 used. You'll probably want stands so that's another expense if you decide on using stands.
