How do I use my Nord 5 keyboard as a keyboard in GarageBand? I create a midi track. The track appear but no signal from my Nord 5. I have connected it through Audient iD14 . Do I need to have a cable direct from the synth to the mac?

Hey, you didn't explain what exactly you connected.
But probably, you connected the main audio-out of the NP5 to the Audient. Which will allow you to record audio from the NP5 to your computer. MIDI is something different - the easiest way to get MIDI signals into your computer is by connecting the USB-B socket of your NP5 to the computer (directly).
So if you want to record audio, change your track into an audio track. If you want to record MIDI, swap the connection.

Hi - Welcome to the forum "jelien" - Great to see more Norwegians on the forum - If you send me a PM I can explain (in Norwegian) a little further the difference between audio and MIDI.

Hi jelien
and a very warm welcome to this wonderful forum of nord enthusiasts.
You seem to have a nord electro 5, right? There are at least four lines of instruments - Stage, Electro, Piano and Wave - which have generation numbering from 1 upwards. An electro 5 and a Piano 5 already exist, I guess that may have confused FZiegler.
And you need to set up a MIDI connection from your nord to your Mac or iPad. In case it‘s an iPad with lightning socket then you only need the lightning USB camera adaptor and a standard printer cable.
Good luck, cheers from Germany

Thanks, Tasten-Bert for clarifying all those things. I was a bit in a hurry and messed things up.
