Numpty Question - Memory

Sorry - newbie again. I'm getting confused about physical memory on the nord 6d. I've read that the 6d comes with 1G physical memory - and that you can download and add additional sample sounds. Logically I'm thinking you can do this until you fill up the 1G (probably a bit less than 1G due to overheads etc). When you run out of memory I'm guessing you have to delete some default sounds if you want to add more. Do all nord 6 models come with the same amount of physical memory (1G?) and can you add to the physical memory like on a pc?

Hi,
you are correct overall about maximum space and need to delete less used samples when you need space for others, that's what you have to do.
On the last two points:
- memory cannot be upgraded, it's soldered on the board and not computer memory or SSD but a specific type of Flash SRAM; just as it happens on Yamaha Montage and other similar hardware; if it could be upgraded Nord would advertise that and/or there would be plenty of posts here on how to do it...)
- not all Nord models have the same amount of it (you can check each model's specs on the Nord website, for example NP5 and NS3 have 2Gbyte of Piano memory)
PS: use the FAQ and/or Search button of this forum when you have a doubt, topics like this one have been already discussed several times and it will be faster for you to get an answer

Every Nord Piano, Nord Electro or Nord Stage has two different memory sections: Piano Sample Memory and Synth Sample Memory. Which may be different in size and can only contain the sample type their engine is meant for (from the Nord Piano Library for the piano engine or Nord Sample Library respectively 3rd party samples for the synth engine).
No problem to delete factory loaded samples - you can get them all back to the memory by downloading from your computer again (if backupped) or from the Nord website.
Every Electro 6 has indeed the same 2 memory sections.
