organ volume/output is way lower than piano volume/output

Post by padraig reed »

i've had my electro 3 for almost two years now and have never had a problem. played a gig last week and turned it on today for the first time since - worked like a charm at the gig, but now any sound from the Organ channel (regardless of bank/etc.) has almost no output. the piano output/volume is still loud and strong, but the organ isn't. my settings are still all saved and everything seems to be working except for the fact that you can BARELY hear the organ. i've turned up the volume and the gain and it doesn't snap back to the same level that the piano is (gain and volume cranked = blasting piano, but 70% weaker organ output).

has anyone heard of this before? it's like the volume sensor on the organ chip is loose/frozen/something to make it weak and not pump out sound.

any advise is greatly appreciated. i've emailed nord customer support but i'm super nervous right now and want to fix this as soon as possible.

thanks!

Don't know if this is your situation, but I had the same worry once and realized I had just touched the volume pedal (set to control the organ volume) and turned the organ down myself ;-)
In any case check the volume pedal setting (both in the menu and if you have a pedal connected, at the pedal itself)......................

ha! before i checked to see if i received any replies (thank you) i realized that my dumb ass had the sustain pedal plugged into the control pedal input. duh!

before i noticed this i had multiple emails with the nord technical support group and the guy that helped me (pablo) couldn't have been better- really went out of his way to help me out.

thanks for your time!

Don't feel bad. I did this at a gig once. It was pretty nerve-racking. Didn't figure out what is going on until like 10 minutes before the downbeat.
