Ideal speaker setup for living room soundscapes
I have my NS3 located in a smallish 12x12 living room in my home. Most of my playing will be of the atmospheric, ambient, worshipful variety with pianos/pads/eps.
The room is a little cramped and I don't have lots of options for where to place speakers in a typical "left-right" configuration.
What I'm looking for is for the sounds to be lush and spatial. I am NOT looking for reference quality studio monitor type sound reproduction.
Some forum members over at Keyboard Corner were suggesting some kind of "omni-directional" setup where sounds were just kind of radiating around the room using speakers like Mirage OM-10 or other speakers that have atypical configurations for spraying sound across a room.
Looking for suggestions from people who may have tried this type of thing.
p.s. I don't have Bill Gates money, but I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest solution in the world, don't mind spending a bit of money to take advantage of this beautiful instrument

Try a pair of Bose S1 Pros. You can sit them on the floor or get a pair of short poles to raise them above ground. They have a 120-degree horizontal dispersion angle to give you a "wash" vs a more directional sound. Also, you can use them to stream music via Bluetooth when you aren't playing the NS3.

Hey that's an interesting idea, I will look into those. Any other ideas or suggestions?

I simply have a decent stereo/hifi thingy where my computer plays and the synth can do as well. There are many options and priceranges to choose from. You just need an amp with AUX inputs. I have an old Sony 5.1 but just use 2 channels. It has - I guess - 4 different inputs where I can switch between my connected devices. This is the computer and a mixer as well. My synths go into that mixer, but I could also connect them directly with a unbalanced to chinc cable.

I use a simple HiFi / TV soundbar in the living room. Fits nicely behind the board.
Kind regards,
Helmut

Re: Ideal speaker setup for living room soundscapes
Hey, I've got my Nord Stage 3 88 in a living room and have it with IK Multimedia iLoud micro monitors and I am very happy with them. The smallest and cheapest in "studio" quality. I am recording with them, playing "home" piano, even rehearsing with guitar player. For me, the best buy for home enviroment.

Do you have a subwoofer with that soundbar?

Re: Ideal speaker setup for living room soundscapes
Actually not, but it has a connection and a built-in bass-reflex system, so the sound is OK to me.
Most of the time I play with the band with K8 monitors.
The distance between soundbar and Stage 3 is necessary because of the Nord holder for sheet music.
I use an original K&M stand where I bought two additionall arms to extend the length to hold both the Stage and the soundbar. This all looks professional and "well sorted" for the living room. FAF (female acceptance factor hi) is high enough
Watch out - some soundbars offer smart / WLAN features, esp. for the sub. In many cases that results in a significant delay (1 second) on the analogue inputs.

Re: Ideal speaker setup for living room soundscapes
Exactly, a soundbar with a wireless sub is not a good solution.
I had the opportunity to test the NS2 and the soundbar DENON with a cable connected subwoofer ... pleasant sound and normal response - no delay.
I also tried PHILLIPS soundbar with wireless sub ... unusable delay for live performance.
As I already mentioned, the aspen pittman SS V.3 prevailed with the sound for me.
