Studio monitors
Does anybody out there use a set of small studio monitors for home use. Thinking about a set of Yamaha HS5’s or Rokit 5’s.

Re: Studio monitors
You might find another product if you search the forum: Presonus Eris 5. But I don't have them - can't tell.

Re: Studio monitors
I have a pair of ADAM T5V studio monitors. Flat response, clear as a bell. Perfect for mixing.

Re: Studio monitors
I use a pair of Tannoy Reveal 802 which I got at a very attractive price, but I don’t like them much. Sound is relatively OK, middle class at best, but there is a loud pop in the speakers when they are powered up or powered down. I will look for a better product when I have time to check others out ..

Re: Studio monitors
Do not underestimate the impact of room characteristics. Resonace in the low register or highly reflective walls might make any speakers almost useless.
I have a pair of Behringer b2030a:s in a 20m^2 room with concrete walls, and the speakers are not the bottleneck.

Re: Studio monitors
Currently use a pair of JBL LSR308. For a small bedroom with concrete walls just for basic recording or practicing, does a decent enough job for me. Of course sound calibration would make it sound better.

Re: Studio monitors
Staying on 5" speakers, which I find more than enough for medium/small room usage at "apartment flat with sensitive neighbours" volume levels
, I have a pair of JBL LSR2300 (the model before the current LSR305) I use for mixing and I am happy with them.
For just playing the keyboards I use a 2.1 system from Creative that I used in the past with my desktop computer and is more than enough to play at the above mentioned volume levels...

Re: Studio monitors
I use KRK Rokit 5 G4, they look nice and sound nice too, bass is not boomy and treble is not too emphasized. Detail and sound texture is above average. Btw as monitors for Nords to play the perfect one are IK iLoud Micro Monitors which are so small that they can stand on keyboard's housing
