DMC-122 with Nord Electro 6D?

I am interested in getting a Nord Electro 6D and a DMC-122 organ controller to control it when I would like to play organ on a dual manual. I believe you are able to program the DMC-122 to use the Electro's global channel for its upper manual, and the External Kbd channel for its lower manual; however, my question is regarding drawbar control. Would it be possible to use the first set of drawbars on the DMC to control the Electro's upper manual only and the second set of drawbars on the DMC to control the Electro's lower manual? From what I can tell on the Nord, you need to press the Edit Lower Manual button to adjust the lower manual. It seems that there is only one set of CCs for the drawbars, so having the press this button every time just to adjust the lower manual might be a dealbreaker. It's possible though that those CCs sent on different channels would only adjust the corresponding set of drawbars, but I don't have an Electro to test this.
