Well, I am disappointed that NS3 is not in the list of compatible devices. Will this compatibility come back soon, or, a new NS will be on the way? or both?

No one knows here, only Clavia/Nord does. But at least something is moving now on nsmp v4, after quite a long time since its first announcement.

Interesting also that most sounds have sample lib version 4.1, not 4.0. Which means that the format has already been revised in the meantime. Maybe because of a performance issue which was mentioned in the Piano 5 OS update history (1.16). Seems the Nord techs had some problems to solve. Which may have been done now.

Wasn’t the NS3 originally been mentioned somewhere as one of the compatible instruments, or am I wrong here?

Sure, was not expecting an answer from anyone, was more an open question. Hopefully they update NS3 soon like that we can take advantage.

As someone else said, Clavia/Nord is still alive, that's good news.

Stage 3 might be an interesting upgrade (if it happens), and easiest for Nord if they released an OS and accompanying bundle to restore back to "factory" but with samples in the NSMP4 format, AND upgrade NSM to convert NSMP3 files to NSMP4.

I can't imagine they would do this much work to only have it compatible with one current instrument. Hope this is a prelude to updates for NW2, NS3 and E6-

Keep in mind that compatibility can also be a hardware issue. In that case a software update is of no use.
