Transferring settings between Nords

Hi there,

I have a Electro 6HP and a few gigs that I travel to over the year. It seems that finding this model to rent is difficult, and I've had suggestions of a Electro 5 or Stage available to me. My question is, I have settings for the songs I perform and would they transfer to the Electro 5 and Stage with the sound manager, or would I run into issues where something may not be compatible from my Electro 6 to Electro 5?

The settings aren't too complicated, I have patches that are all from the Nord Sample Library and a couple where I either layer or split the keyboard. I just don't want to find myself in a situation where I can't perform with the same sounds once I upload my settings from my personal keyboard to whatever Nord rental I get.

Thank you for reading and for your help in advance!

Hi, you cannot transfer/share programs across different models, sorry (only piano/synth samples); so if you normally use a NE6 you can load your piano/synth samples into a NE5 (if there is enough memory) but then you'll have to recreate your programs manually.

Right. So if it's a model that supports samples (which Electro 5 is), the same samples can be downloaded on to it from a computer as long as there is enough space on in the keyboard's sample memory. An Electro 5 also has a piano engine, so the same pianos can be downloaded in a similar manner. As @maxpiano said, cross-model transferring of programs is not possible, so you will have to take care of all settings and parameters manually.

Write down all your noteworthy program parameters somewhere and maybe record short audio clips in order to recreate them on the rental instrument. This might not be necessary, if your programs are very simple, because then you can just recreate them roughly.

Settings cannot be transfered.
One thing from the community is made for the Stage : the Nord File Viewer can display the parameters of Stage 2 and Stage 3 programs.

Hi joshuanesbit,

you seem to be a classically trained piano player. Hope, you got along at least with the key action of the Stage EX. It's not that close to a real piano in my eyes - made especially to mix piano, synth and organ sounds. That's probably not what you wanted.
