Tempo of a Sample
Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to de-tune a sample by 1 semi-tone, without slowing down the tempo? Our band is doing Baba-O-Riley and I am using a sample that I downloaded from this forum on my NS3. We recently changed singers and we need to de-tune everything by a half step. Unfortunately, this slows down the tempo of the sample.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Tempo of a Sample
Short answer is not directly on the Nord. You would have to do that to the sample directly in a tool designed to pitch shift and then reimport into the Nord.
Current Gear: NS3C, NP5-88, NP5-73, Alesis QS7.1 & QS8.2, Hammond B3 with Leslie 122, Yamaha CP70, Yamaha C3 6' Grand, Roland D-05

Re: Tempo of a Sample
Hi,
I believe that the only way is to re-sample the sound into .wav files, then use a tool to de-tune them without speed change and crate a new sample from the de-tuned .wav files
EDIT: cgrafx was a milli-second faster providing the same answer

Re: Tempo of a Sample
Hello, I recently added a sample that can be used in F or E at post151304.html#p151304. The other sample for the right hand ("WhoBabaORiley32W.nsmp3") should work fine transposed. Let me know if you have any questions. Take care.

Re: Tempo of a Sample
Hi WannitBBBad, I just downloaded and installed your sample and it works Perfectly! I Was able to play in either F or E with no Transpose, and when I did a Global Transpose -1 semi-tone, the tempo seems to remain consistent. I have no idea how you accomplished that but I cannot Thank you enough!

Re: Tempo of a Sample
You're welcome! I used Audacity to change the pitch of the original WAV files without changing the tempo, and then added the pitch-adjusted WAV files to the new Nord Sample. Take care.twagner21 wrote:Hi WannitBBBad, I just downloaded and installed your sample and it works Perfectly!
