Modelled Piano sample

*edit 8/4/22 - tweaked the top end, and added different sample format versions below*
Hi Folks,
This sample originates from an unnamed 2000s era prototype 'digital piano modelling' application, no longer available. I have permission to use the sample and share it. The sound was created to use in my old Motif rig. It was the best piano sound in the mix for playing in our covers band, it cut through in a way nothing in the keyboard ROM ever did.
Originally a triple layer sample, it's now scaled down to a single layer for the Electro.
The Mp3 is with direct out with no FX from my Nord Electro 5D.
Settings
FILTER VEL - ON
DYNAMICS - 2
ATTACK - 0.5ms
RELEASE - 120ms
I used it on a small solo gig today and it sounded great!
Enjoy

Cheers, yes it's an interesting sound. Very direct. I think it's because it's mathematically modelled strings rather than strings with a microphone recording them. Glad you like !

Hello, I noticed all three sample files are identical in size (all NSMP format). If you want to save samples in NSMP, NSMP3, and/or NSMP4 format, you need to go to "Config" in Nord Sample Editor 4 (without your keyboard connected) and select the format you want to save the sample in. Let me know if you have any questions. Take care

Hi thanks for pointing this out, I'm going to correct it now and upload the right versions. Not sure where I went wrong, but I think the files are the right formats now.

Strangely, the forum is not letting me upload the nsmp4 version - I just get this :

That's something the mods or Johannes may need to get done - maybe you were the first one who uploaded a nsmp4 sample, even after almost one year of NP5.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for that. Could you tell me how I could tag in a Mod please?

Maybe it's best to PM Johannes who is administrator. Besides, most mods will probably read along.

Thanks for taking the time to make the 3 versions. Fziegler's suggestion is probably best so that the NSMP4 format is accepted on NUF upload, however I should have noted that I typically post just the NSMP version of a sample and let the user convert it with Nord Sound Manager if needed. My post at
nord-user-samples-nsmp-samples-f14/savi ... mp#p142544 covers my thoughts further on that. The only reason I would post a NSMP4 sample would be if I created it with multiple samples on each key for round robin specifically for the Piano 5. Thanks again.
