How to free memory to download new samples

I'm trying to download about 10 harpsichord samples from the Nord website to my NP4 (v2.50), and after doing several successfully, it now says I'm out memory, down to 3Mb. So I went to the Sample tab on the Manager and deleted a few dozen samples that were unused, totaling maybe 30 or 40 Mb, but it still says I only have 3 Mb.

I restarted the piano, but that didn't help. Anyone know how to free up memory? Thanks!

Did you delete samples in the correct place?
The right tab for making space for harpsichords should be the Piano-engien, not the sample-engine.

More Info. In the Sound Manager Piano tab, it says I have 996MB used, 3MB free, and in the Sample tab I have 437.3MB used, and 73.5 MB free. When I try to drag and drop the files into the sample tab, it switches to the Piano tab automatically. Is that because the file has a 5.0.npno extension? I'm trying to get the harpsichord samples from https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-lib ... arpsichord

I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding on my part, as I'm not really clear on what the "piano" memory space is and why it's different from the "sample" space, and why a harpsichord would be considered "piano".

Ah, our posts crossed. So yeah, I guess I have to drop some piano programs then.

A harpsichord is a piano sample as long as it uses the piano engine to be played. And will be a synth sample if it's meant to be played within the synth engine. There are harpsichords for both engines, but you can't exchange them: Harpsichords with multiple velocity layers are part of the piano library, those with only one layer are made for use in the synth sample library. And only the harpsichords from the piano engine have things like string resonance or note off sounds. Which makes the other harpsichords a sonic stub - just useful for layering with other (piano) sounds.
