Question about Live Mode

Post by sawbones99 »

If I want to create a new sound while in live mode, do I need to anything to "clean out" the existing program that I have previously created in that location?

Not really. If you want to completely replace a Live Mode sound, you can save a new one into it and then go from there. I don't use it that often, though I suspect the manual will tell you the steps for this. Probably something like "save as live" and it will be however you saved it, until you start to tweak the knobs and so forth.

No, it is automatically replaced. OTOH, if you want to keep some access to the sound you previously had there, since it will be replaced, you need to FIRST save it somewhere else, even before you make any changes to it. As soon as you make ANY change to a Live Mode sound, you cannot recall the sound as it was before. The point of Live Mode is to always remember the last state you left it in. It's a useful feature, but it means it is NOT the place to put any sound you want to always be able to get to. Just bump a knob, the sound you had there is gone! (Well, altered, at least.)

I'm not sure but as for every other program it should be possible to use "Prog Init" (Shift + Transpose) also for Live Mode.
I don't use Live Mode because - as said - you can't recall older settings.
I would recommend to use an empty program, alter it, save it, use it. You can change it as live mode too, then just press the Save button twice.
