Sound Manager Requires Reconnection of Stage 3

Hi All,

I've looked through the MIDI document and other posts but can't find an answer to my simple problem:

When I boot my computer, the Stage 3 is already on and connected to the PC. The keyboard shows up in my MIDI devices, so Windows 10 knows it is there. However, when I start up Nord Sound Manager, it does not detect the keyboard. If I disconnect and reconnect the keyboard MIDI cable, Nord Sound Manager immediately discovers it and works. But it's not convenient to keep doing that.

Is there a windows configuration or some other thing I can change so that Sound Manager detects an already-present keyboard at startup?

Many thanks -

Hi,

not sure if there is any Windows setting to rescan the USB devices (as probably NSM connects not to the USB MIDI port but a different "NS3 device" which maybe is disabled if not used when NS3 boots), however there is an easier solution to avoid disconnecting cables: switch off and then back on the NS3 after starting NSM.

Also try using a different USB port on your computer and see if that helps. On my lappy, it seems that not all of the USB inputs are the same. They all work, but some work better than others for certain things.
