Expressive "E Touché" with Nord Lead - any experiences?

Hello all,

Do any of you have experience with the Expressive "E Touché" controller together with a Nord Lead synth?

I love my Lead A1 but am extremely missing aftertouch at all times. You're basically supposed to be able to control hardware synths with it, so couldn't this hardware controller "replace" pitch/mod stick and the (non-existent) aftertouch for controlling individual parameters?

Thanks for any feedback!

Surely this is possible. Basically everything on the Lead is controllable via MIDI CCs so you just need a way to map the Touché controls to the right CC values. There are many alternatives, including hardware or just software to you computer.

Thanks :)

I hoped someone might have concrete experience with this device in "real life" (but it seems to be rather "exotic ").
I’m still thinking about it.

Did you ever do this? I was thinking about adding the Touche for my nord stage 4 as I can see it adding another dimension of expressiveness, but do not know whether I should purchase the USB version or the more expensive version. I may opt for more expensive, as I have an 73 ARP-2600 it might be fun to use it with.

Nord Stages have dedicated morph sources for the kinds of things one would do with the Touche. Meaning pitch bend, mod wheel and control pedal. These can be controller by incoming MIDI messages. So if you insist on using the Touche, the most obvious way is using it to replace one or all of these.

You should find a guide on how to map the Touche to send these MIDI messages. Unless the manufacturer is lazy and doesn't provide basic manuals.

If you want to use the Touche separately from the Stage 4 internal morphs, that's a lot more difficult.
