hello, quick question about the Electro 6D (with the physical drawbars):

say i'm in dual organ mode, with split keyboard and manual organ enabled. the upper manual is selected with the physical drawbars set to 888888888, and the lower organ is set to 808000000. now i want to set the lower manual to 888888888. i press "edit lower manual" to select the lower manual, and now i have to move each drawbar slightly up and then back down again to make the keyboard "see" the actual setting.

is there, instead, a button i can press that would sync the lower manual to the current positions of the physical drawbars?

On the Electro 5, there is one - it's called "DRWB Sync".

I don't own an Electro 6, but as per the manual, there is no such button. You might want to check out the "Manual Organ" function:

One way to do this quickly would be saving a second Program with the change of the lower manual included with the Program, then just toggle between the two.

NE 5 owner here, so my way may or may not be possible. I have just set up an organ program as yours - a split with 888888888 for upper and 808000000 for lower. Upper is preset 2 and lower is preset 1. The drawbars‘ physical position is all out, i. e. 8s. When I switch to preset 1, then press SHIFT and DRWB SYNC, preset 1 changes its setting to all 8s. I guess that‘s what you want, isn‘t it? As the presets are Hammond originals I can imagine that the same way works on NE6.

I didn't know that was possible on the Electro 5: another extremely useful feature removed from the Electro 6 for no apparent reason.

What exactly does the E5 do here that cannot be done on the E6 between its "Manual Organ" and "Edit Lower Manual" buttons? I'm not sure I'm seeing it...
