Cameo "Word Up" NSMP Sample

I hope all of you are doing well. I listened to this song after seeing a request for it on the Stage 3 page. With quite a few synth parts needing two or three programs perhaps, I thought I'd take a stab at putting together a sample covering a bit of it. On the MP3 I play along with a drum track, but the looped drum track is also included for reference. I played around with the levels to get them fairly close for performance but the Velocity (Dynamics) setting can be used to provide more flexibility in the levels if needed. No effects are used for the MP3 except Hall reverb. Below is a JPG of the sounds mapped. I hope some of you have fun with this. Take care.

Wow. This is one of the best sample covers I've worked with. Excellent job,
WannitBBBad. Thank you so much for sharing all your hard work!

Wow, thanks so much for this.
I have to play the song transposed down one semitone.
Can anyone of you wizards help me achieve this using either
- Nord Stage 3 directy, or
- nord sample editor 4.23, or
- any othe means?
Again, thanks a lot for this great community!

Easy.: download the
Cameo - Word Up W.nsmp that you find in the opening post, then load it into your NS3 Synth Samples memory using Nord Sound Manager and finally use it in NS3 Synth section like any other Synth Sample (e.g.: do a Synth Init, go to samples list and select that sample, just to start)

yes, thanks! Did that, but where I fail is to
transpose its sound (especially the whistle).
I generally know how to use nord's transpose feature.
But that will remap the samples to different keys, not play the same samples, tuned down, on the same keys.
Am i misunderstanding something here? Thanks again for your time!

You cannot transpose a single .nsmp composite sample like that one, which contains single key samples recorded in the specific (original I guess) key and supposed to be played on the assigned key (and one of them is a drum loop which would be altered also in speed by transposing the whole sample in NS3 synth); you would need to rebuild it and for that you'd need the the original .wav samples and Nord Sample Editor project files.

Ah, I see, and it makes sense. (Since i dpn't need the drums, I'd be fine with altered drums, though).
So, I'll try to rebuild or perhaps get the .nsmpproj file from WannitBBBad .
Thanks again and have a great one

Hello. Below is the "Word Up" sample lowered a half step. The sample is under category "User" with no dynamics. When Nords transpose a sample, all they are doing is shifting the existing sample up or down for the transpose needed, but that affects any splits as well. In this case, the sample splits are shifted down a half step but will have the same mapping as above when the keyboard is transposed down a half step. I hope this helps, cheers!
