With the NP4 tri pedal when playing live I really just need sustain. Is it possible to split it to allow me to create 3 sustain pedals that works with 3 separate keyboards?

Nope. Not easily, anyway. And now someone armed with a bunch of parts and a soldering iron is going to prove me wrong ...

You *could* modify it, here is the diagram by maxpiano, our own triple pedal resident expert

but it would require losing the original function and rewiring it all. What you want involves 3 separate switches so there is no simple "cable adaptor" that could do this with the current triple pedal architecture. I would rather get 3 cheaper sustain-only pedals for your setup (and keep the expensive triple pedal for what it was designed for).

You wrote most of what I was going to... actually you could still create an alternate wiring to pick up just the 2 switches (Soft and Sostenuto pedals') from the NTP and wire them to 2 new cables, disconnecting them from the original cable (you may even add a DPDT switch to enable routing them alternatively towards the new wires or the original), of course it is an invasive modification and you need know how to do it properly, as it still this requires understanding the schematic, mapping it to the actual NTP board, cutting tracks ...

An easier option, if the OP still would like to have 3 on/off pedals in the "triple pedal form factor", is to buy a standard on/off triple pedal, e.g the Fatar VFP3 which is exactly made of 3 on/off switches (still a little rewiring required, as it comes with a stereo cable, but probably easier than on the Nord Triple Pedal); you will lose the NTP half-pedaling and Pedal Noise dynamics features, but that's maybe acceptable for the OP.

Oops I think we forgot about NC/NO pedals . In case anybody is thinking about going ahead and modify the triple pedal, note that it would end up working as three "normally open" pedals (i.e. Korg-style) instead of the more common "normally closed" type (e.g. Roland, Yamaha). Of course some synths accept both types (Nords!) but others do not.
The Fatar pedals that maxpiano mentioned come in NC and NO types: Fatar VFP3-15 is NC and the VFP3-10 is NO.
