Hi
I have some encoders that needs to be replaced. The Master Encoder with clicks and some of the other encoders without clicks. I found this possible replacement for the Master Encoder, is this the correct one:
# Bourns Inc. ECW1D-C24-CC0024L
But i cant find the other encoders. Can anyone help ?

Hi, Syntaur has those encoders in its lists, it does not specify the brand/model but at least it indicates the number of detents (24 for the master encoder, no detents for the others).
https://syntaur.com/keyboard.php?keyboard=379
but it would be easier for you to ask to your local official Nord post-sales assistance provider, they may be OK to provide you just the parts for a fair price (in Italy for example it is
http://www.masterservice.tk and those encoders are listed on the website and available for purchase
Link)

I confirmed with Bourns that the other encoders are not directly available as they were a custom batch for Nord. Their engineer suggested P/N ECW1D-C24-AE0036L as the closest equivalent, if you can't find the Clavia-specific part (P/N ECW1D-C24-SE0/049L) in stock.

Hi 23skidoo
Thanks for your answer - i will check it out. It would be nice if i could order both types from the same supplier, f.ex. Mouser or Digi-Key
I see that the suggested replacement part (P/N ECW1D-C24-AE0036L) has a round shaft, but i need a D shaft encoder - do you know if this is available ?
best regards

Not sure where you got the idea that that part has a round shaft, but it's incorrect - the C24 in the middle means that it's a D-shaft, 19mm long. Check the datasheet, don't trust distributor websites:
https://www.bourns.com/docs/product-dat ... f8c470f5_6
I replaced the main 24ppr encoder (the detented one near the display) with a digi-key generic part, but I haven't replaced any of the non-detented "fast" encoders yet. If I needed to, I'd probably just buy the original Clavia part from syntaur or another vendor, but if those weren't available I'd be willing to give some variant of the alternate part number a shot.

I found photos from digi-key, farnell, mouser and other suppliers offering the P/N ECW1D-C24-AE0036L and they all show that they have a round shaft, so sorry for the confusion, but when i look at det data sheet you supplied, there are 5 different shaft shapes. Thanks for helping out and explaining that C24 is a D-shaft
best regards

I bought the replacement encoder from Syntaur to replace mine.
I'm having trouble removing the knob cap. I pulled with a fair amount of force but it didn't budge and I'm afraid of breaking it. Not very experienced, any tips?

I used some plastic levers that came in an iFixIt kit to do that, yeah they're stiff at first. You can try using a lever of some kind on both sides - always pull them evenly - you *really* don't want the shaft to snap off in the knob! They take a fair amount of force to get started, but once they start to move its easier from there. Using controllable and balanced leverage is the key.
