Nord Grand Key Volume Issue

My D above Middle C sometimes will have a dramatic increase in volume when it is hit. This happens more with staccato playing and I am wondering if anyone else has had this same issue occur and if there is a fix?

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

My 15 month-old Nord Grand has recently developed a similar issue with Eb4 and Ab3 (to a lesser extent) over the course of the last few weeks. The Eb4 will randomly jump to peak velocity 20-30% of the time and the Ab3 is now just starting to do this occasionally too. I haven't gigged the keyboard yet (and certainly wouldn't in this state) so I doubt that the problem is due to wear and tear. I have a feeling that this is another instance of the peak velocity issue reported by other NP4 and Grand users (nord-piano-grand-forum-f10/notes-random ... ty#p132735).

These two keys produce the issue no matter the patch/volume/keyboard touch setting/actual physical pressure applied to the key, so I'm fairly certain that the issue is caused by dirt in the sensors. I'm going to contact the Canadian distributor and store that I bought it from to see if I can get it serviced. Overall, this is the nicest and most versatile action that I've ever played on a digital keyboard, so it's definitely worth getting it repaired in my case.

Thanks for the information. Good to know that it is a problem that is not unique to my instrument.

I live in Louisiana and will have to contact my retailer to find out who services Nord Products in my area.

I wonder if it would be covered under warranty if this is a "recall" type repair?

The Nord Grand has in my humble opinion, the best action of any stage piano I have ever played!

Thanks again and please keep me posted as to how your repair works out.

Quick follow-up: my Nord Grand was fixed under warranty by the repair company recommended by Nord in Montréal. In the note received from the repair company, it said that they were unable to find the problem with the two keys so they just ended up replacing the entire keybed. The keyboard works great again and it's been issue-free for the past three months so hoping that it stays that way!

Hi am also having the same problem with my grand the D key below middle C randomly increases in volume to the maximum no matter the pressure. This problem appeared a few month after purchase, very disappointed that such a wonderful instrument has such an awful flaw.
what does Nord have to say about this issue?????
