Dealers in Texas, USA

Hi all,

I am very close to ordering my first Nord keyboard, and I play mostly piano, hence I am leaning towards the NS3 HP76. Instead of asking another “this action vs that action” question, I would prefer to find one to play/demo. Does anyone know of Nord dealers in Texas, USA that might have inventory? I’m located in Dallas/Fort Worth, but willing to travel a bit to demo.

Thanks!
Adam R

I checked with Sam Ash and Guitar Center neither have the Nords in stock in Dallas. Sweetwater in Indiana does, but that's quite a drive.

Strait Music in Austin shows a NS 3 compact semi weighted, not what you're looking for. There may not be what you are looking for in a retail setting in the whole state, sadly. Good luck!

In my experience (I'm in your same area,) most (all?) stores do not have Nords on display to try. This tends to be the case for a lot of gear I'm interested in, so I just buy used and resell it for a profit if I don't like it, but that's not an option for everyone.

If you’re 100% sure you are buying an NS3, then consider calling up dealers and asking what it would cost to exchange an HP76 for an HA88 or NS3C if you don’t like the action. (Or asking the return cost if ordering two and sending one back.) Sweetwater and Kraft are both reputable dealers I’ve worked with, and I’m sure there are others. Just be up-front with them.

Another idea would be to check if there is a local Facebook musicians or keyboardists forum for your area. You could ask if anyone has the boards you’re looking to try.

The Sam Ash in Dallas is the only store in DFW where I've ever actually seen a Nord product on the floor.
