Hi everyone,

I hope you can help me: I would very much like to know if somebady can create a patch on the nord stage 2 for the lead solo that you can hear on the front page of Nord themselves: http://www.nordkeyboards.com, first video in the right column named Greetings from Norway (from Dag Selboskar). Really nice lead sound, hope you can help me out.

Sounds like a moog sound to me. Check the samples it should be there.

I agree.
That is a very beautiful, and magical lead.

I suspect that its' beauty lies more with the player than the program, or instrument.

It's a simple sound.
To my ears:
It's based on a saw type wave (probably virtual analog, rather than sampled), little, to no detuning.
Monophonic mode, possible legato also with some glide added to simulate a vintage analog like the Minimoog as Shark suggests.

I also hear a quick, shallow trumpet like attack, 24db low pass filtering, no KB tracking.
This sound was done with the Wave (not simply because he's shown playing it in the video) but because it has AT controlled, LFO modulation of the VCA (tremolo) rather than vibrato (something the Stage series doesn't do).

I believe the tremolo could be simulated on the NS2 by sending the Synth section through Effect 1 (Tremolo) and using AT to control "Amount" via the morph feature.

The same type of lead sound re-emerges about 2:08 in the video, but using a pulse wave with a little resonance.

I'd love to give this one a try, but.... "most of us know the rest...."

I hope this gives a start. If one of the lucky NS2 owners will run with this and post back, I'll guarantee many "thanks"

This is excellent stuff, such a warm sound!! Would you mind sharing the basic patch settings or a screenshot or photo or whatever of the Panel? Would love to get this on a NSEX as well!
