I was thinking of buying a Nord piano 4 - is the Nord Hohner ' N' NSMP parch compatible with the Nord piano 4 ? From what I can see it isn't as the Nohner patch seems to be available only in the archive library can anyone give me advice on this?

I couldn't test with the Piano series, but on my Stage 3, I can play both the "NSMP Pianet N" sample from Barry Carson and the "Pianet PH" from Pontus Henrikson (from the PH piano bundle). I found them both in the acoustic/electric piano section of the Nord Sample Archive as a *.nsmp file and had to transfer them on the fly into nsmp3 file format (which is done by NSM almost automatically). They both played over my full 73 keys - I don't have more (forgot to test with octave shifting).

(And there are variations of the latter on NUF: nord-user-samples-nsmp-samples-f14/hohn ... -t785.html)

That way it should work with every Nord that is supported by the Nord Sound Manager, I think. The Electro 2, unfortunately, ins't any more (or never has been). All Pianos or Stages that support samples in the synth engine are, the Electros from 3 on.

BTW: Thanks for reminding me - I liked the sound when I first dipped into the sample archive, but forgot about it. I'll keep it installed now.

Thanks for the info FZ much appreciated- the early pianets sound amazing but they were a bugger to maintain- from what you have said the patch is compatible with all the Nord pianos - would the NSMP patch compatible with the Nord piano 1 ?

The Nord Piano 1 does not have a synth section that could play back .nsmp files.

Nord Piano 1 has no option to play samples from the Nord Sample library as far as I know ...

Which of the stage pianos or elecro keyboards are compatible with the Hohner N NSMP sample?

all Stages from Stage 2 on and all Electros from Electro 3 on, each with OS updated, can handle these samples. You may want to have a look here for further details:

Plus the Nord Pianos from Piano 2 onwards, and the Nord Grand. Look for “sample synth” in the description of the products on the Nord product pages

There is a Nord stage piano 88 on Ebay -Do you know if it would it be compatible with the Nord Hohner NSMP sample ??-
