Adding sounds to Electro 3 still possible ?

Please excuse me for the question, I have no experience in this matter ! I own an old NE3 which still gives me a lot of satisfaction. At first I kept it updated, but time goes by.... Now I'm hoping for the new Electro 7. In the meantime I'd like to add some old sounds to my library (accordion and cello). In your opinion is it still possible? Thanks in advance.

Ciao Meggia,
yes, it is still possible to upload sounds to the NE3, just a few limitations:
- piano samples up to version 5.4 - no version 6 compatibility
- samples up to sample library 2.0
I had an NE3 myself until some years ago and can remember that I too had a lot of fun playing it. Only that one day the piano memory was a bit too small for my needs.
Enjoy. Cheers from Germany
Edit: celli here:

and a very good one from the member iMacMan here:

You can use the „nsmp“ files.

As I recall, using the sample library 2.0 required a certain level of OS and also Nord Sound Manager.
Sample Library 2.0 requires
Nord Electro 3 HP v3.14+
Nord Electro 3 v3.12+
If you run an OS below these levels, I suggest trying what's available in the Sample Archive first. There is small risk to updating OS on older machines (some NE2 users reported this recently).
A corrupt sample is annoying to fix or work around. A corrupt OS is expensive.
Similar reasoning applies to upgrading the Sound Manager - there might be compatibility issues with older computer OS.

Thanks tasten-Bert for the links you sent, they seem suitable to me. Good news, I never thought I could add sounds to my electro. I will look for samples up to library 2.0 .
Thanks pterm. I’m upgrading the OS to 3.12 , looking for a compatible Sound Manager version as well.
From your words I deduce there must be compatibility between samples, OS and machine. If it doesn't work I could try different OS, within the limitations you all suggest.
Thanks again. I find this forum to be just great !
