+1.

The above video from Montreux shows how much joy he had in playing, and also in playing an audience.

I don't know how often I've listened to Miles Davis' album 'In a silent way' in my life, for more than 40 years now. It had a huge impact on me (as it had on many others). Chick, Herbie and Joe certainly made me aware of what a Rhodes piano can do and since listening to them I've been after their sounds.

Fast forward to the duets with Hiromi - and one gets a glimpse of what he did for the next generation of jazz pianists over the years. I'm sure I'll be listening to a lot of his recorded performances the next days. He will be missed.

Hi folks,

I was devastated at the news, believe me!

That now leaves only Hancock and Jarrett in the Miles (piano) lineage; and Jarrett is no longer performing due to ill health!

Best,

Paul
