How to fix squeaky black keys on the Electro 2?

So, I bought a second hand E2 about 6 months ago – my first 'proper' keyboard – and I love it.

However, when playing quietly – or even at a moderate level – I notice that there is a plastic squeaking sound on the motion of all of the black keys. Its pretty annoying, and when I checked against some of my other keyboards (old MIDI keyboards, and a basic Korg and a Reface CP) they don't exhibit this same sound.

Is this possible to fix easily/cheaply?

Anyone?

I'm guessing this is not a common problem, given that nobody has responded.

One way to interpret it. Another would be: Getting your instrument disassembled to get to the key mechanics for lubrication (not with oil or ordinary grease) may be a relatively cheap thing, but certainly not that easy. So what to answer? After what I've been reading here for the last year, it may not be an absolutely rare point. Just type in "lubrication" into the search field for the portal (upper right corner) for a first information.

Thank you for your response – I will search for lubrication and see what I find.

Presumably this is not a job I can undertake myself without significant risk of breaking my keyboard? :shifty:
