Hello

I am loving using the Wave but am new to it.

I cannot fit all of the samples that I like into the (original) Wave due to memory capacity. I can't seem to work out how to remove one sample set and load another entire set. I have read the manual several times but can't work it out; maybe there is a limitation. I also cannot load a folder just a file even though there is load a folder functionality. I have latest firmware.

The process seems to be that I need to download each individual sample to capacity each time and that is tedious. Alternatively it seems that maybe if I load each set manually I could then do a backup and give that load a specific name to reflect the samples used. Then I could have three of four different backups with unique samples. So I just need to individually load the samples and do backups and restores.

Have I understood this correctly? Any tips please?

I find the Sound Manager works very well for managing all the uploading and downloading the sounds, individually or in selected groups or folders. The sounds are tied to programs and the bundle options helps with that issue. It shouldn't be too tedious. I will try and give some specific instructions and hope I'm not being tedious.
To upload a selection of sounds to your computer:
In Sound Manager make sure that Samp Lib (rather than program) is selected.
Select the beginning of the group of sounds you want to upload to your computer by clicking on that sound.
Scroll down to the bottom of the group of sounds, hit shift on your computer keyboard and then mouse click on that bottom sound.
The group should now be highlighted in blue.
Select Sound Up at the top of the Sound Manager. This will launch a box to confirm that you really do want to upload your group of sounds. Clicking Upload will launch another window allowing you to specify where you want those sounds to go.
This is how it works on my Mac. I don't know about Windows anymore.
Alternately you could just delete the sounds on your Wave2 and get more samples from the Nord web site.

I would like to raise the question of why any of this being necessary at all. 1 GB is small these days and more memory in a Wave2 seems very realistic. There is something to be said for keeping the sample size small enough to be manageable and not just endlessly adding more and more, and we can get loads of sounds into 1 GB. Perhaps Nord will sell a Wave3 in the future with more memory and this is some marketing strategy, but I'd rather not think that way.

Thank you for your help and apologies for the delay in replying. I hadn't realised that I had to select before uploading. Have created a couple of banks and it works for uploading and downloading. Although it takes 15 minutes to do a download. It seems quicker to load from a backup which is weird. But at least it sounds good on the samples that I use. It's curious that some samples from the Nord Sound Library sound great others flat and lifeless. The stringsynth and Fairlight samples work well.

I actually have the Wave and not Wave 2 and so the memory is very small. Am not keen at all about the Wave 2 as it lacks fey features that I use on the Wave. Nord are clearly in rush to do a Wave 3.
