Wave 2 - Type of synthesis?

Post by kbmatson »

Hi - Stage 3 owner looking for my next thing. This is probably a stupid question, and maybe I'm just thrown off by the name "Wave", but does the Nord Wave 2 do the wavetable morphing/sequencing like a Waldorf or a Hydrasynth or the Korg Wavestate?

Hi-

The NW2 does not support wave sequencing like the other boards you mention. The Wavetables appear to be a collection of waves that can be used for any layer. They are interesting but static. You of course can morph between them, or morph Osc Control, filter or any other parameter for motion of the sounds, but true wavetable synthesis it is not-
