Humming noise from Wave 2

Just got a new Wave 2 and it has a pretty high humming/buzzing noise coming from the keyboard. There is a humming noise near the power output, which I assume is from the internal PSU and in the other end near the screen also a buzzing, but higher frequency and audible from playing positing if I have a pause while playing. Anyone else experience this?

Love the keybed and everything about it, will send it back monday to get fixed, just wanted to know if anyone else are getting buzzing/humming noises from their Wave 2?

Thanks.

I have three Wave 2s here (don’t ask) and they all have a high pitched buzz associated with the display. It changes according to what’s on the display (brighter=louder). It’s really directional I find - quite noticeable (but not enough to be problematic) if my ear is down near the level of the keyboard, and not at all in many other positions. I don’t hear anything from the power inlet - this is on a 230V UK model. I hope that helps.

After using power tools and trying to play music for many years I can't hear much anymore. So I'd say, just give it time and you'll stop hearing those noises too. However, I did go down the path that ended in buying my Wave2 because I was annoyed with the noisy keys of my Novation Impulse midi controller. Yesterday was our 4 week Nordaversary and the Wave2 and I are still in love!

I'm playing my Wave 2 with headphones connected to my mixer and I can't hear a buzz.

The Humming is probably the Power supply, the NL4 and A1 had the same issue,Its nothing to worry about!

Thanks, I really need a completely silent unit, tested the waldorf quantum and it's must have a bigger internal PSU but it was silent. The Fantom 8 also have a buzz, but it's very low.

Have you tested the Nord Stage 3? Do you know if they also have a hum/buzz from the chassis? Love the keybed and build of the Nord keyboards and would be very sad to see the Wave 2 go.

Nord Stage 3's can have a hum or buzz to them, about the same as the Wave 2. Here are some forum posts.

Thanks, very useful.

I went to the shop today and tested another Wave2 which seemed to have the same low-level hum from the PSU (around 200hz). I also tested a Nord Stage 3 where the PSU hum seemed less noticeable, but both have same buzz from the OLED. I can live with the OLED buzz, but not the PSU hum on Wave2, it's just to noticeable in my studio.

I have tried contacting Clavia Nord on their homepage but not heard back.

Anyone know if it would be possible to pay someone to take the PSU out of the Wave2 and make it external?
