Where to Buy?

Hi, this is my first post, and I'm shortly going to be joining the ranks of Nord owners.

I'm going to be purchasing a Stage 3 in the next week or so, and I'm curious if folks have recommendations on where to buy from. I'm in the U.S.

Amazon looks like it's quickest, but I am concerned about their ability to ship without damage, getting an open-box product, and whether or not they're they're an official seller for warranty purposes (Amazon is the seller, not a 3rd party).

Guitar Center can also order it, and I can have it shipped to store, so I can verify that it's a sealed box and it's in good shape before taking it. On the downside, historically, I haven't found Guitar Center a real treat to work with, and I expect they'll take a lot longer to get it. I would not be thrilled spending this much at Guitar Center given previous experience with them, but if it's the best route, I will.

Other online retailers like Sweetwater would alleviate warranty concern, but not the other issues present with Amazon, and I didn't see a local music store that sells Nord.

Anyone have recommendations on where they purchased and were happy with? Particularly if anyone has bought through amazon and how that worked out.

Thanks!

I used Sweetwater for both my Nord Piano 3 and Nord Grand purchases - no issues with shipping damage for whatever that’s worth. Good luck!

I bought all my Nords from Sweetwater. Good service, and a two year warranty. Definitely worth it.

I used Sweetwater as well. No issues with shipping (or anything else for that matter).

I would definitely recommend buying from a company that focuses on selling musical gear to musicians, as opposed to a general purpose retailer such as Amazon. Sweetwater would certainly qualify as one of the companies that focuses on selling musical gear to musicians. There are probably a couple others that have a similar focus as Sweetwater, I just don't recall who they are.

Thanks for the feedback, folks!

Sweetwater sounds like the crowd favorite, and after calling to check on availability, I can see why (They show out-of-stock on the website). The gentleman I spoke to was super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it looks like they won't have it back in stock for about a month, and I'm looking to purchase sooner than that, so I think I'll order through Guitar Center so I'll have a local shop I can work with.

I committed to always buying bigger stuff in real music shops with a showroom and stuff that is close to me. Even if they don't have the specific instrument at display, they will always be happy to order it. I take into account that this means i spend 5% more, but I hope that with this little commitment, I increase the chance of these shops surviving.

The helpful recommendations convinced me to not order from Amazon.

Although they're not exactly a local store, I decided to go with Guitar Center, because they do have a nearby location. They were also helpful when, after ordering this morning, the order status flipped to backorder when it showed available and ready to ship when I placed it. I called them up and a helpful guy found a store with it on hand and now my Stage 3 88 is on the way
