Simple iPad MIDI sequencer

This seems like such a simple question that can be answered by a simple google search. But, thus far, I have totally failed at getting the answer.
What I am looking for: A MIDI sequencer app for the iPad that will allow me to play a song (basic piano) on my NS3 and record the MIDI notes for playback. Then play it back from the iPad while I play a different part along with it. I just want to play a duet with myself as the other half (one of me is totally awful, so two will be worse ... but it’s just for me so no damage to anyone else).
What I have tried: I purchased the TouchOSC app without any real research. So a total failure on my part at lack of reading. It seems like a good app but not at all what I need now. So that was just dumb on my part (but not a waste - I may use it in the future). So then I bought Fugue Machine. It says it’s a midi sequencer. It’s primary purpose is not that (and does seem pretty cool and something I may play with). But I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how to record an external MIDI track. I think maybe I need Ableton. Or maybe I am just too stupid to use it.
I do have the “camera adapter” for the iPad, so I can plug the USB cable from the NS3 directly into it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple sequencer?
