pitchstick calibration error

Hi, i've had my stage 3 compact 73 for 4 months & i'm getting this error on startup. The pitch stick isn't moved during startup, the message dissappears when exit is pushed but pitchstick no longer works. Recent firmware reinstalled but no change. Under warranty l would have to do a 200 mile round trip twice to my nearest capital city {Melbourne Australia} which is in covid lockdow for at least 3 more weeks.l would like to know how difficult it is to access the pitch stick control & get step by step instructions if it is feasable. Thanks in advance Dave.

I have a Stage 2, if the Stage 3 is a similar design, it’s not problem replacing it. The trick is how to open it without doing damage to components inside.

This may sound stupid but... are you 100% sure you are not even touching the board during startup? I have found that even small vibrations over the chassis can cause the pitch stick calibration to fail.

Just to make sure, l switched it on from the wall without any contact, but still the same.

It's really easy to get these boards open. Undo the side panel screws, the screws along the back of the top panel, and one in the center of the bottom chassis. That's how it was for my Electro 5 and my Stage 3, so I'd assume it's the same for just about anything they make. Once you're inside though that's up to you to not mess things up

Good morning.. Any update on this issue? I started getting the same problem yesterday. My NS3 compact was working flawlessly for nearly two years until this happened yesterday out of the blue! I emaild Nord's support.

Would you please keep us updated as to if and when they'll possibly reply back to you? I ask this because my experience with Clavia support page has been a bit strange: they never gave me an answer concerning the most important things I asked their support for (including possible malfunctions with the board), then they unexpectedly answered me back a week ago or so about the very silliest of the bugs I had been emailing them about.

If anyone is interested. I've ordered the pitch stick from Syntaur and a friend who's experienced in synth repairs replaced it for me. here's the link to the part:

Don't bother trying to contact Nord. they never reply!
