One of the best synth demo songs?

Post by tetra »

In a recent post describing why I chose a Nord keyboard, I mentioned, in passing, that one of the things that got me hooked on wanting a Nord keyboard was a demo song created for the Nord Lead 3. This must have been around 2001 or maybe 2002. A demo song was available from the Clavia site (in whatever passed for the Internet in those days) for the Nord Lead 3. It was downloadable as an mp3 file. I put that song on my MP3 player (some kind of non-apple solid state device that sounded pretty good). I commuted to work on my bicycle and prepped my playlist on the limited memory each day. And for several months, I included that song. I desperately wanted to get my hands on the Nord Lead synth and own it and have it and play it. But, at the time, it really didn’t make sense from a financial standpoint. But I listened to that song and loved the melody and thought that the individual sounds were the most luxurious and beautiful things I had ever heard.

Over the years, I somehow lost that mp3 file (PC upgrades, conversion from Windows machine to Mac, etc.). More than a few times in last 5 years, I searched for that song without success. After the aforementioned post at the beginning of this overly long post, I searched again and found it. Wow. Flashback. And I still think it is wonderful.

The song is called “Analouge Part One” and is by Dan Lind. He has a few songs now on SoundCloud and this is one of them. Music is, of course, is an extremely subjective thing in terms of taste. So it won’t be of interest to some/many. But it is worth a listen. I did some searches on this forum and was not able to find this particular topic mentioned. Hopefully someone finds some enjoyment in this.
