NORD TRIPLE PEDAL - Why so expense?

I am considering purchasing a Nord Stage 3 88. But the NORD TRIPLE PEDAL is $399 in the US. Can anyone tell me why it is so expensive? Seems off to me. Is there an alternative? Also, any recommendations on good sources for accessories for the Nord line would be appreciated. I am new to this generation. I came from the DX7 IID/D50 days. Thanks very much in advance.

Karl

Hey Karl!
The triple pedal is definitely not the only option. Any standard sustain pedal will work as a sustain pedal. It is expensive, because it is high quality and Clavia has a monopoly when it comes to these product specific accessories.

If you are new to these red planks, My Keys To Music is a perfect place to start. Always go through his Youtube channel when you have a beginner question.

I like my triple pedal - and sometimes even use the sostenuto (middle) pedal for holding chords.

But I haven't paid that much money and won't understand why the price level is so different in Europe and outside: At the moment, it's at approximately 210 USD (incl. tax) in Germany, and this is not a special price. So, probably it's not Nord who gets the majority of the 399 USD you have to pay.

It is expensive for a fancy sustain pedal

However,I decided a better pedal option for my Stage was to buy a Nektar Pacer,The triple pedal doesn't give you any other functions,so I decided to add a Midi Footswitch controllor as its able to assign the CC numbers of the Triple Pedal plus it can control every other Midi CC on the Stage,it is slightly more money than a Triple pedal, but its a far more flexible option, and your getting a better bang for your Buck.

No good reason, the Roland RPU-3 is $140 and the Studiologic is $80.

In any case, there is no alternative for a triple pedal from another manufacturer.

But indeed, a lot of people don't play a NS3 so much piano like that they would use a triple pedal. I guess, most would use any ordinary sustain pedal plus an expression/control pedal for volume and/or morphing functionality. Nord recommends three types for the latter - look into the manual.

What??? Where did you see this price? Thomann offers it at £173 in the UK: https://www.thomann.de/gb/clavia_triple ... ImVuIn0%3D

Still not very cheap but much less than £1200

Are you talking about the triple pedal? or the organ bass pedal board?
The triple pedal (which is what this thread is about) It is listed for £135 in PMT and £139 at Anderton's.
