I need a good piano sound for something I'm recording and wondered if the 2X engine is compatible with a file from the Electro or Piano 4 samples?

A bummer? A "virtual analog" synth (like the NL2X) is designed to emulate analog synthesizers, not pianos n it is the same for all "pure" VAs such as e.g. Access Virus and the likes...

All of the above being true, there are piano programs in RAM/ROM, whether you like them or not is another question. I searched for “piano” in the manual.

1.75–Wurzpiano (really bad name)
1.29–Electric Piano 1
1.93–Electric Piano 2
2.20-2.22–Electric Pianos 1,2 &3
2.23–Knockwurlitzer
2.24–Bell piano
2.44–Yazpiano
2.69–Organic E.Piano
3.27
3.60
5.63
8.34
8.58

I stopped with the names. Most are electric pianos. Download the manual, it contains a program list. Good luck.

2.44 seems the best one
