Nord Wave 2 owner impressions

Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

Nord Wave 2 owner impressions

Post by cafedunord »

Having just purchased the Nord Wave 2 I thought it might interesting if owners posted their impressions of Nord's newest synthesizer. I've only had my Nord Wave 2 for a few days so I plan to post my impressions in the coming weeks.

Interestingly, I haven't found a single review of the Nord Wave 2, and only a handful of YouTube videos introducing it, so this post may also be a useful source of information for anyone considering purchasing this keyboard.

The Nord Wave 2 is just now becoming more widely available, with online retailers beginning to show stock as of May 1. Full Compass seems to have the lowest price: $2,522. I've also found it listed new and used on Reverb.

There's a thread in the nord wave section of the forum since it was presented in NAMM 2020. Lots of discussion there.

Thanks, Alex! I read through that thread but didn't see much info from actual owners, just folks commenting on what they thought was good or bad about Nord's latest synth announcement. Which makes sense since not many folks have had the chance to buy a Wave 2 until now. I realize this is probably a bit early to create this post but hopefully new owners will eventually see it and begin commenting.

I spent another couple of hours with Wave 2 this afternoon and I continue to be impressed by the breadth of its sounds. Its ability to have four distinct sound engines available simultaneously feels similar to playing a rig with multiple keyboards.

I guess all the other early buyers are in the same situation like you, still exploring the abilities of it. I believe in the future there will be more threads and programs available. I have the original wave and I am very happy with it, not considering a wave2 at the moment, however it is a keyboard that has impressed me a lot.
