I accidently bumped into the sustain pedal jack while it was plugged it and I broke the connector inside my Nord Piano 2. Is this something I can replace? Does anyone know a part number?
thanks

the Switchcraft part number is embossed into the grey inspection plate on top of the part (only visible once you open chassis of the instrument).

If you are sufficiently confident in your soldering skills to be working on your NP2's mainboard, then DIY is possible. If you mess up your mainboard accidentally it will cost you hundreds of dollars to replace it....the choice is yours to make. Good luck!

yeh annoying - all my jacks are right angle except the nord pedal .. and I did the same; broke the PLASTIC socket on my stage2ex compact. Really annoying. My sustain pedal now has a right angled nutrix like all my other cables!!

I suspect that the reason plastic is used there is to provide additional protection of the mainboard itself. Better that a US$4 part breaks than a circuit board which would cost many hundreds to replace.

The jack casing is made from plastic to electrically isolate the jack from the case. This is necessary to prevent having problems with ground loops.

we might both be wrong about that -- 1) those Switchcraft connectors have grounded metal fittings which contact the inside of the chassis directly when mounted (not isolated), and 2) the newer style connectors being used now have metal barrels protruding through the chassis perforations (not isolated or breakaway).

well having a right angle jack on the pedal would be a start, in my proud opinion

Let me add to that. The pedal itself should have a female TRS “input” like the female TRS input on the board itself and a right angle TRS cable (on both ends) would connect the pedal to the board. I know someone did a mod like that but I don’t have the confidence to do that conversion myself. It’s really a simple change that would be a great benefit for all users in my most humble opinion.

I soldered the new connector today and it is working again.
Does anyone know where I can buy replacement torx bolts for the cover?
