Nord Drum 3P sample triggering + stand

Hello everyone,

I am looking at different drum pads (Nord-Roland-Yamaha-Alesis) to add to my studio setup. As a songwriter the one that attracts me the most is the Nord Drum 3P because it is a synthesizer and not a drum machine (piano is my primary instrument). Having said that, is it possible to trigger drum samples like Addictive Drums II through MIDI from my desktop with the 3P? With it being a multipad surface, it would be great if it could double up and do this, so if I'm recording a standard drum kit I don't need to go back to the keyboard and can use the sticks...

Also, I am almost at the buying phase here (you know how research into new kit can get... decades!) so my next question would be: Is the Roland PDS-10 the best option for a stand for the 3P or are there any other options which work well? (it is quite pricey)

Anyway - Thank you in advance

All the best

Hi solavirtus,
Welcome to the forum!
The 3p sends a MIDI note from each of the 6 pads, you can set which notes and which MIDI channel, so you will be able to trigger drum sounds on other devices..

As for the stand, there is a thread here on how to build your own (for the Nord drum 2 + pad, you will only need part of it for the 3p..): nord-drum-forum-f27/stand-for-nord-drum ... t5717.html

Cheers,
Albert
