Roland PK-25 with Nord C2?

Hey, I ordered the Hammond XK Pedals for my Nord C2. The salesman told me that they would work; turns out they are incompatible with the Nord!!! What a pain, I'm going to have to box them up and return them.

From what I can tell by looking at photos and the user manual, the Roland PK-25 pedals appear like they might work with the C2. Can anyone confirm this from actual experience? I know there's a "Roland" choice on the expression pedal menu.

I really wish I could order the Nord Pedal Keys 27 instead, but I've been told that it's better to have pedals that very closely emulate a B3's pedals for practice purposes. Later, I'll probably buy the Nord Pedal Keys for gigging...

Hello DL,
what part didn't work?
(Like the salesman, I would have bet that they'd work too)
Cheers, Hanon

It doesn't work because the expression pedal is an optical type, rather than a potentiometer type. The connection is DIN, or standard midi-looking, for the epression pedal. It needs to be supplied a voltage from the keyboard- it's a Hammond proprietary thing.

The Roland PK-25 has a standard 1/4" TRS connector. Seems like it would work with the Nord C2. Nord C2 even has "Roland" setting for expression pedal type. But when I called roland, they wouldn't confirm that it would work with the Nord- they said I need to ask Nord.

My email to Nord is so far unanswered.

they work, I have a set. You have to set the midi channel to number three on the foot pedals. The swell pedal also has leslie speed control switches on each side which work too. You dont have to set anything about the speed switch or swell pedal - it all works when you plug in the footpedals on the correct midi three channel

Thank you! Wow it was hard to find the answer to that question!

Now, tomorrow I get to haul the Hammond pedals down to the FedEx store and have them professionally re-boxed and sent back to SweetWater (some of the packing materials got destroyed as I was first taking the Hammond pedals out of the box). My wallet is feeling lighter already. Sweetwater rep said it would be unacceptable to just fill the carton with packing peanuts because of the possibility that some of them would get stuck inside the pedal cover. I guess my fate is in the hands of the shipping gods.

By the way- I just wanted to tell everyone that the folks at Sweetwater Sound have taken full responsibility for my purchase. They paid for shipping, and return shipping and professional re-packing for the Hammond pedals that didn't work. Thanks Mike Grebe and everyone else at sweetwater!

So glad I didn't order the Hammond pedals from someone else!

Hi dlargent - did you get the Roland PK25 pedals? Did they work out for you? :)
Intersted to hear if both swell pedal switches worked without any changes. (I understand there is one swith for leslie fast/slow and another for brake)

Thanks and regards :)

Hi Jason
Curious to know what stand you use for C2 with Roland PK25 pedals and also which keyboard bench/stool.
Any photos you may have would be very useful? :)

Thanks and regards
