Hello Everyone! I wondered if anyone here handy with the Nord Sample Editor has ever made (or can make) an .nsmp sample of the Yamaha Motif XF (or MoXF) presets called "AngelVoice" and "MournStrngs". Those are two beautiful pad sounds I would really love to have in my Nord Stage 2ex. Anyhow, thank you for any help you can provice. Have a great day.

you're welcome - do you have the voice numbers available for the two sounds at the Motif XF?

Also at which velocity level do you want to have them sampled, since most of the Motif XF voices sound different at different velocity levels?

Thank you so much, Schorsch!!! So, i did some digging and found that "Mourn Strings" location in the Motif XF is PRE 4, 38 (C06). I was embarrassed to find that "AngelVoice" is only available in the Motif ES and original Motif. However, I went thru the Motif XF sounds and found a great sound very similar to AngelVoice. It's Motif XF preset "Oooh Pad" in PRE 6, 50 (D02). (Please forgive my oversight that AngelVoice didn't carry over to the Motif XF series.)
Regarding velocity levels, I suppose if you sampled them at a high level (or the highest velocity level); that might work well-- because we could use the Nord filters to make them as dark as we'd like. My thought is, sampling them in a brighter filter state would allow the full brightness at max filter setting, or it could be made any level of darkness by rolling off the Nord filter knob. Just my 2 cents anyhow.
For what it's worth, I also love Motif XF preset "Dark Light" in PRE 5, 117 (H05) as well. All three of those presets "Mourn Strings", "Oooh Pad", and "Dark Light" are beautiful pads that I layer with my Nord pianos all the time. I thought it was be amazing to have any of those Motif XF sound inside the Nord Stage 2EX as .nsmp samples. Ok will try to get decent samples from these sounds during this week. By the way I found the AngelVoice in my Motif XF sound libraries, will load it into the Motif and sample it as well.

I'm honored that you would take the time out of your busy schedule to do this. I really appreciate what you're doing. By the way, I really liked the other two pads you made and posted here. Will also post the others asap - have sampled the wave files from my Motif already but need to do the loops and create the Nord sample. Sampling from the Motif XF has been done without any Motif effects enabled, to get you the real "raw" sound which can be tweaked with the Nord effect options, avoiding any unwanted interference with Motif effect in the sample. This applies to this one and the all others following later.

Please listen/try and let me know if these are ok for you or if you want them sampled including the original and default Motif XF effects settings.
