Nord Sample Editor 3 Very snazzy! :)
  • Intuitive user interface
  • Drag and drop single or multiple samples
  • Automatic and manual import options
  • Edit multiple zones at once
  • Support for silent zones
Needs Nord Stage 3 OS v2.50

Need to see if it supports assigning One Sample to ONE key without stretching.

now I can get excited about sound programming. let's see what this can do. I wonder if an improved version of Nord Sound Manager could be released at some point? something that can offer further support. oh, Nord stage 3 OS 2.5 has also been released.

Couldn't you always prevent stretching by simply assigning a different sample to the adjacent key?

I am disappointed that the new Sample Editor doesn't do what I thought we most needed a new sample editor for... supporting the additional definable attributes for the .nsmp3 format. I thought the main benefit of the new format was the ability for samples to have some associated default basic envelope/filter settings so that they would more likely be instantly usable when bringing them into a program without having to tweak them first. I was hoping the new sample editor would let us specify those default envelope/filter settings we wanted to associate with our own samples.

I think the first steps for the extra nsmp3 parameters include the "Dynamics" checkbox which applies "suitable settings for velocity response" depending upon the category chosen for the sample. It is mentioned in video #2 "Creating a Sample Instrument from an audio file with multiple samples" on this page:
https://www.nordkeyboards.com/software- ... e-editor-3

Also mentioned in the online user guide:
https://www.nordkeyboards.com/support/m ... pleeditor3
Give the sample instrument a suitable name in the “Sample Instrument Name” field and select an appropriate category from the “Category” drop down menu. If “Dynamics” are enabled, appropriate settings for amplitude, filter velocity response and envelope shape, are applied to the sample instrument based on the chosen category.
