Bonnie Raitt - I Can't Make You Love Me

Bonnie Raitt recorded the beautiful song "I Can't Make You Love Me" written by Mike Reid (Nashville Song Writers Hall of Fame with twelve #1 hits) and Allen Shamblin. It inspired covers by Adele, Bon Iver, George Michael, Prince, and many others. Below are a few programs I put together for the song, which has no less that four separate keyboard parts on the original recording, beautifully produced.
On the MP3 is a little from the original recording followed by a sample of programs 1 and 2 where you'll hear the "F" note holding in the top split while I start with the Rhodes, add in the slot B White Grand, and then switch to the 2nd program that has the Rhodes to the left and White Grand to the right for the parts played by Bruce Hornsby. Not heard on the recording, but for programs 2 and 3 I also have B3 and light strings set behind the Rhodes on the Control Pedal, and another synth in slot B to be added behind the Grand for the second chorus where the movement goes to Gm. Take care. Program #1 - I usually play an intro to the song with different initial settings, so after you save this to your Stage 3, go to slot A and turn on the Rhodes, go back to slot B and turn off the White Grand, and then save it again. Putting the synth on "hold", hit the F note in the top split and bring it up in the mix with the Control Pedal as you start playing the Rhodes intro. For the second part of the intro, select the slot B piano set up for the White Grand. Program #2 - After the intro you move to the second program that has the Rhodes on the left and White Grand on the right for the piano parts (back in the mix a little). Programs 2 and 3 have B3/strings behind the Rhodes, and another synth behind the piano ready to be selected when the second chorus moves to the Gm. Program #3 - Same as #2 but a different split, an octave shift for the left hand, and White Grand set a little louder. I use this after we get into the song a little stronger with the bass player covering the low end and me covering the higher Rhodes and Grand parts. Programs 2 and 3 have B3/strings behind the Rhodes, and another synth behind the piano ready to be selected when the second chorus moves to the Gm. Over 70 programs free to a good home:
