DIY-hack for Leslie-controller

Hi

I've been searching for a pedal that will have both swell function, and a Leslie on/off knob.
All of the different variants hav had some issues, like wobbly or bad build-quality etc.
My main goal has been to work out a solution were I can control the Leslie on/off without using my hands.
I used an Roland pedal, and put velcro on the pedal and onto two areas underneath my NS3
This way I can choose where I want to attach the pedal, and simply operate the pedal with my knee.
This allows me to handle the Leslie without releasing my feets from the swell or sustain pedal.
Simple, cheap and flexible solution.

Brilliant! I have vague memories of an organ in my childhood that had a lever at the left knee that the player could lean into to control something. Can't remember what, but this reminded me of the experience.

The Farfisa Compact and Mini Compact had a knee volume lever (I played one too in my childhood)

I may be mising some kind of knowledge here but may I ask which Roland pedal you use for this? If it's a switch and you connect it to the Rotor Pedal connector how do you switch between slow and fast then?

I used a Roland DP-2.
Simply plug it in the rotor-jack on the back of the NS3, and you're good to go.
Also tried a "Supreme SSP2", but this had a very hard switch internally.
With this pedal I basically lifted the synth before the the switch was engaged.
The Roland pedal is much more lighter, and it work as a charm.

Ok thanks - so do you switch Leslie on/off only or also toggle between slow and fast with the pedal?

Any pedal/"kneadal" plugged into the rotor control socket will toggle between fast/slow or fast/stop depending on how you have the Leslie sim set.
