Reverb Tank with NS2 for Deep Purple crash sound?

Hi - trying to mimic typical B3 crash sound as Jon Lord, Deep Purple, did by manipulating the whole organ and/or leslie in e.g. Burn. I was thinking of using an external spring reverb tank open module (that is usually mounted in guitar amps or in Fender Sidekick Keyboard amp). May build it in a wooden casing, plug in as ext FX to PA, and just hit it when appropriate...
Anyone here has experience if this will do, or other ideas / suggestions? Many thanks!

Why not sample it, or search for the sample?

There's a number of spring reverb effects pedals with a real spring in there, built specifically so that you can crash them as well.

Succeeded! I bought myself a used Accutronics reverb tank model 4BB2C1B, no input connection needed from my NS2, just plugged the output it into a small mixer (gain up). If I hit it with my foot, its sounds crashy, almost exactly as the original in the Hammond manipulated!
