Selecting sounds with an i-Pad

My brand new NS2 HA88 is programmed and ready for my gig tomorrow night. I also downloaded and programmed a MIDI control app for my new i-pad.
It has 3 pages that are fully programmable as far as button size and layout, labels and MIDI messages. I separated my sounds into 3 categories so when my band leader calls the next tune while I'm playing I will press the button to get to the appropriate category and when the current song ends I press the button for the next song and the NS2 changes. There are a few people creating apps but I found this one to be the most versatile for my purpose. I won't post the name of it for fear of being accused of spamming but I think it's going to be a great solution for the problem of getting to a sound quickly on stage and I just wanted to share it with anyone who might have the same issue.
I also want to say that I am really enjoying playing the NS2 HA88. I love the action and the sounds and the way it somehow feels so much more like a real instrument under my hands than anything I've played since my Fender Rhodes days.
Needless to say I am extremely happy to have the NS2 and I thank everyone in this forum for helping me make the decision to purchase it.

Hello vocalchords,
thanks for sharing that.
It's ok to post the name of the app (I'm encouraging you to)
Spam can be a bit tricky.
However, if you're not directly involved in selling it, or profiting from it's sales.
If it's related to music, specifically a Nord instrument that you own, of interest to the forum, and not more than one post a month, then it's probably ok.
However an advert for Lou1s Vuitt0n knockoff handbags, or generic vi4gra is definitely not.
(I've certainly deleted and banned a share of those)
On behalf of the forum, I'll say "you're welcome" to your thanks.
Congratulations on your purchase of the NS2, I'm glad that you're enjoying it.
I'd love to see a picture of your setup with the iPad integrated into it, very cool indeed!
Cheers, Hanon

Hanon,
I am in no way affiliated with this or any other company producing i-pad/pod/phone apps but since you gave me the okay I will post the link.
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/touchosc ... 20394?mt=8
The thing I like about it over the Yamaha Set List Organizer is that you can draw, label and size the buttons and fit so many on the screen. There may be better apps out there and I'd love to hear about them if there are but this is working for me right now.
I will try and remember to take a picture of the i-Pad on the mic stand bracket at my gig tomorrow night and post it here.
I am really looking forward to putting the NS2 through it's paces.

Hi Vocalchords!
How do you connect the iPad to the NS? Do you need an external device or can you connect directly to the USB interface?

Sorry I took so long to answer this but I've been working a lot lately.
I'm using the Yamaha i-MX1.
http://usa.yamaha.com/products/music-pr ... mode=model
I'm attaching a picture of my set up with the NS2 and the i-Pad mounted on my mic stand with the i-Klip.
The i-MX1 does seem to loose connection with the i-Pad sometimes but unplugging and replugging gets it back quickly. I'm not sure what is causing this but I'll let you know if I figure it out. All in all it's a great way to get to your sounds instantly.

That's better than the touch screen of the Kronos

Clavia should offer a discount pack NS2+IPAD!

H all,
I am also experimenting the "NS2-iPad connection"

and I am really excited about the possibilities!
Here's an example, using the (free) Studiologic "Acuna Panel" App as a control surface for NS2:
Controls can be configured, so e.g. do you want to control NS2 drawbars with sliders? easy: just assign the related MIDI CCs to the 9 sliders... done
More to come...
PS: I wish (or dream?) Clavia would make a "iNordSound Manager" and "iNordSampleManager" apps soon!
