Nord Sample Editor don't work OS Catalina!

Hi guys, I have a problem, I have a nord stage 2 ex and I need to put some samples, but since I updated to Mac OS Catalina it doesn't open the app. Is there any way to do it?

Yes, the most recent version of this essential tool (for two of us at least) is now over 3 years old. Its painful to use on an OS that it will run on, but still not a word from Clavia about a replacement 64 bit app.

If your answer is because I can, or I wanted to, or any other answer that isn't I had to replace my computer and thats what shipped on it then you really should have waited until the software tools you need have been upgraded to support the new OS. You NEVER upgrade production tools (software or OS) until properly tested and vetted to make sure they work.

Your options now are to down-grade the OS, get parallels and load windows, or purchase an older Mac for use as tool for all the software that doesn't work properly with Catalina.

They might if you contact them directly, and not just post about the issue on a user forum that Clavia officially does not support or read.

Hi phenoplastic,

Clavia is definitely reading here. I had an issue with the sound manager, mentioned it here in the forum and some days later a new fersion with a bugfix was issued. Thisnfix obviously was no big deal so the reaction time was small. Porting the Sound Manager to 64bit imho is a big thing, but nevertheless I agree with you they should have been ready with it earlier...

Yes, please get the Sample Editor to 64 bit ASAP. I use it a lot.
I'm not running Catalina yet, but you never can tell when Apple will make hard for you NOT to run it.

Your point is not entirely unreasonable. But remember that Macs are now sold with Catalina pre-installed. Many people will have bought these for music, and for them downgrading or hanging on to Mojave is not an option.

Although I myself and many of us may have held back from upgrading, and perhaps wisely, it is now the case that Catalina IS Mac OS now, and it is a real problem some of the Nord tools, and other software, is not ready to run on it.

thanks friends! I see that we are several in the same situation. Hopefully Clavia gives us a solution to our problem. I don't think I have to explain why I update my Mac or not. When the main problem is a program that has not been updated for 3 years! regards!!

Nope you don't.

It doesn't make any difference if Nord should be on this sooner or any other developer for that matter. You chose to make a decision that has consequences and are now complaining that a tool that you need doesn't work.

I'm sorry but thats on you not Nord.

I'm not making excuses for Nord, just pointing out the the world doesn't revolve around what you want or think should happen.

I'll repeat. You don't upgrade production machines without vetting/testing before you do so.

In some cases tools are never upgraded. So your welcome to yell, scream, whine but that won't result in you having a functional tool.

Upgraded software is also not always an upgrade (including OS upgrades). Features and functionality get modified and stripped all the time.

You can sit here and bitch about what doesn't work (which is about as effective as spitting into a hurricane) or you can find a working solution and move on with your life.

I'm sure Nord wasn't aware that their software doesn't work with Catalina until you brought it up here.

SOLUTION FOR YOUR SITUATION:
Get a copy of parallels and load up a virtual machine running Mac OS Sierra, or High-Sierra or Mavericks and you'll have all the previous functionality you had before at the expense of a little bit of storage space.
