Nord Stage 88 Original hot keys issue

Post by horizoneyes »

My Nord took on water and after drying it out as best I could there are 4 keys that play hot (loud). They are black keys only and in octaves. Aflat below and above C and Bflat below and above C. Is this fixable? Thank you for your help!

Hi, you need to check and clean those keys contacts (and/or the wires/pins of the keyboard decoding chips related to those keys), I suggest you take it to a specialized/official electronics repair workshop that can do it for you.

:thanks: I shipped it to US and my tech guy will be opening it up soon. Do you think it is just that? That would be a miracle.
Thank you!!!!!!

If your Nord took on salt water, let your tech know. Salt water accelerates corrosion so residue needs to be washed off circuit boards, connector contacts, and from the chassis.

Thank you to those who responded regarding my issue of hot keys after taking on water.
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.
GOOD NEWS today from my tech.
Keys are responding to cleaning and no parts are needed for order. Tech said the inside of the keyboard was clean and that saved it.
No signs of salt corrosion. Keyboard is 11 years old and he was amazed at what good shape it is in.
I use a cover over my keyboard and recommend doing so

Thanks again,
