Hello,

I play with my NS3 and Motif XS6 in a party coverband. There we play the famous pop/rock songs for the people to dance (and drink!). Both are 2 great machines, but sometimes I would like to have bit more sounds for use. So, I'm looking for a sound module.

I wonder if forum users also use a sound module when then play in a band. And if yes, what module do you use and why specific that module?

I can recommend the Roland Modules. And it depends how much space you have for the expander.
I play with Roland XV-3080, Roland JD-990 and Roland Fantom XR. The Roland Fantom XR is more flexible, because it has just 1 HE and sample possibilities/features.

There aren't a lot of modules around today. Two high quality units that come to mind are Roland Integra and GSI Gemini. In used gear, you can find other Rolands like Klangwerk mentioned, among other Rolands, Korgs, etc., depending on what sounds you're after and personal preferences. You can also add sounds via an iPhone/iPad or Windows laptop/tablet.

The problem with the Integra is you need a controller with dedicated buttons to get to all of the alternate multi-layer samples. So unless you have a programmable MIDI controller you will lose out on a lot of the nuance that the Supernatural sounds afford.

I'd also recommend the GSi Gemini (desktop or rack) especially if you're a fan of GSi's plugins!
It's pretty much second to none for really gnarly Hammond sounds (and still a bit better than the NS3 for bread'n'butter Hammond stuff, although the NS3's emulation seems to be getting better with each OS update) and it's synth section's a good complement to the NS3.
