Electro 3/5D 61 - identical footprint - LOWER MANUAL IS HERE

Hi folks,
short question:
Nord state on their website that these two boards are the exact same width, with the E5 a tiny bit shallower. Can anybody find out whether the position of the feet on the bottom plate is identical?
Slightly longer story:
I absolute love my NE3! However, I'm tempted by the NE5's split ability, because that would allow me to leave my MX61 at home. Inspired by
this incredible post, I've started building a lower manual for my Electro 3 to sit on top. So if (not when

) I upgrade to the Electro 5, will it fit snugly?

Hi, maybe I can help a bit. Have a look at this old post of mine:
post74646.html#p74646
I used a K&M 18950 for my NE 3 61 and do still use it for my NE 5D 61. As I shot this foto at the time I played the 3 I can say that I only needed to drill additional holes in the middle of the gap between the X ones and those above. The width of the stand still today is 71,5 cm which means that the feet seem to have the same distance in width. Hope it helps. Sunny regards.

Turns out it's more common than you would think.
Searching for a suitable keybed online, I stumbled upon someone selling their DIY lower manual for a Electro 4D.

It's a Doepfer d3m (with the same TP/8O as in the Electros) in an aluminium housing that also holds a transformer and four power outlets.

Way above anything I might have cobbled together!

And the red is a close enough match imho.

I'm sorry about placing it on those stools, my stand is in another rehearsal space.

I need to get a case for it, too. Very excited right now!

I believe with some effort you can also adapt the "Crumar Mojo61 Lower"
There is an arduino based box (MJU) available as a kit or preassembled that can turn it into an independent MIDI controller, according to a post on the Crumar Instruments Facebook page.

Correct, you mean this post
However if you need it just as a second keyboard, with no controls, you should be able to do that by building a special MIDI cable that provides power on the 2 outer wires of the MIDI 5 PIN DIN (the two pins not normally used by MIDI), just the way the Mojo61 does (as specified in the Mojo 61 Lower manual)
But otoh the one Tracii has found is red

(and has some nice facilities too, only thing missing are... the wooden panels

)

They do.

They are slightly farther apart in depth, but I'll manage.

Thanks again!

Great to hear, thank you very much indeed for the feedback. Good luck. Maybe we'll meet someday on any of the German stages?? I'm from the middle near Gießen. Sunny regards
